Sindh and Multan: Sultan Ghias ud din Balban “Slave dynasty” (reign: 1266-1287 AD) 2 jitals copper coins.

Obverse: In Circle: "Balban"; In Circle "Shri Sultan Ghayas-ud-din"
Reverse: Al-Sultan Al-Azam Ghayas-ud-duniya-wa-din.                              Diameter: 15 mm. Thickness: 2 mm. Weight: 3.8 grams.    
Ghias ud din Balban was the king of slave dynasty he ruled in Hindustan as the Sultan. Sultan Balban’s during his reign he introduce in Multan and Sindh many copper coins 2 jitals and two gani of slave dynasty. In 1269-1270 A.D. Sindh was under Delhi Sultanate. Sultan Ghias ud din Balban’s his son Muhammad Khan who was made Governor of Sindh and Multan. A few years later (1285 A.D), the mongols attacked again and sacked Lahore. They went to Multan and besiege it but Prince Muhammad Khan beat them of. While pursuing them he stopped to say his prayers, and a band of Mongols fell on him and killed him. In him died a brave prince and a great patron of learning. His death broke the old Sultan’s heart and he died the following year (1286 A.D). This shows that at least upper Sindh was in domain of Sultanate for these 16 years.
