ONE DOLLAR (LIBERTY SEATED), 1840-1866

 The design is the same as that of the style, (Quarter Dollar 1838-1866), Style (Quarter Dollar 1853), Style (Quarter Dollar 1866-1891), Style (Half Dollar 1839-1866), Style (Half Dollar 1853).
This contributes greatly to at least one form of type collecting. Unfortunately, the 20 Cent of 1875 cannot be included in such a set because all other denominations had disposed of the Lady on the Rock as their main device some years earlier.
Details: Country United States of America. Coin One Dollar. Style shape complete round. Metal (copper-nickel). Thickness 2.8 mm. diameter 38 mm. weight 26.73g
Obverse: Liberty seated on rock with best dress bust head, left arm curved and a rod show with cap other right hand curved with liberty poster on shield, on top stars quantity 13 in uncompleted circle and date is underneath from rock.  Printed year on device 1840, designer Christian Gobrecht.
Reverse: A left facing bald eagle with wings spread in an upward position without motto and holding three arrows, Lettering on top uncompleted circle UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, Mint Mark name CC, Carson City Mint.
